Nice review. Just got mine so still testing it, primarily with headphones. Bluetooth and wired connections are excellent so far, though I am having problems with the Eddict Player which crashes on a frustratingly regular basis..

If your using Android, try to uninstall then reinstall Eddict. Stopped the crashes for me.
The Eddict app really is a work in progress but hopefully updates will sort the niggles
I remember Chord taking many many months to get the app for Poly and SD card use to a decent level

@McCol thanks a lot for the review. I read it with pleasure. It was nice to see an Elysian х Effect Audio Gaea in your IEM list. I'm putting together exactly the same set now. Waiting for delivery :) It will be Gaea and H7 as my favorite set. I specially selected this dac for a detailed but not sparkling sound. How many people write "The Sound of Velvet". Well, I want to close the issue with the choice of DAC for a while. Now I have Monarch MK2 and Topping G5. This is an impressive sound, especially on calm tracks such as blues, calm rock, naturally female vocals. But i want a less secure sound with Gaea ) And of course a more suitable size that does not give ear discomfort (although i use tips spinfit W1) for longer music sessions.

Interesting, thank you. That's the future right there, I expect.

So H7 or Gryphon? I'm wondering how much brighter the H7 is compared to the Gryphon. I'll be using one of these with my IEMs.

@Tex Irie
H7 more detailed, bigger soundstage with the Gryphon being marginally warmer in its sound

Great write up! I see you have c9 there, how does it compare in solid state? Thank you!!

Been doing a little back and forth with the following,

H7 using qobuz streaming with my Campfire Audio Supermoon
Same earphones with Cayin N8ii/C9 combo. N8ii in P+ mode with the C9 in solid state and AB amp mode

The C9 gives more more output power than the N8ii and the H7. This to my ears seems to give the C9 combo more space to push the Supermoon and feels like they have more headroom due to this

Sound wise it's not much different, the H7 has detail that gets close to the N8ii/C9 combo however the N8ii/C9 has a smooth organic sound that I've not heard as good as from any of my previous gear let alone the H7. However bear in mind this is £4300 rrp for the Combo vs approx £800 for the H7 so a massive difference in outlay

Thank you so much @McCol !! I completely understand your point. Very nice summary.

Btw, I use my C9 with the SP3000 and I found using pure silver interconnects (I use Audioquest Angel and Lavricables 4.4mm to 4.4mm) makes a huge difference.

I am still torn if I really should get the N8ii if I already have the Sp3000 and C9.

Sp2000 was my baby, and nothing beat it in clarity and power. Now sp3000 I think is the one... but still absorbing it in.

I also have the WA8 and WA11. Both from Woo are wonderful and worth a listen.

I'm still learning a lot...so forgive me if anything off from the mainstream opinion.

I personally think that when you get to the level of SP3000/N8ii and various other TOTL devices that differences are often down to personal perference on sound signature

Nice. I can't wait until we get something like this with r2r or tube for a thicker warmer signature. I love that this has the microsd option.
