The PENON official thread

No VIP mailer yet for Voltage....so everything seems to be conjecture. It seems some have already bought it. As a Penon customer from early times it would be nice to receive a really good VIP offer. It does seem, though, that Penon prices may start to inflate, which is sad for those of us who cannot work due to ill health and being people of age.
Don't worry it will come soon clearly. As for the prices, I don't think Penon is going out of the "value" business, just adding another higher end entry to the list - there are two others that cost this or more, so consider this addition new to the high end of Penon offerings. I am waiting to get one, too, I'm sure it's imminent.

I have 14 days of Penon Impact. I mainly use them outdoors and oh my god. I love their balance and fun. I don't miss DD bass at all. In addition, they are light, fit great and the isolation is also excellent. These are absolutely fantastic IEMs. Excellent work Penon!

IMR were impossible....but in many ways Bob was very kind and his aftercare was second to none. He just couldn't deliver on schedule and always added massive helpings of BS and lies. Shame because I have many excellent IEMs from him....all with a sprinkling of Drama as seasoning.

You are right. Had no problems with him in the first 4years. But then came the BS with EH. But different story.

Up to this day I am surprised that people fell for IMR after what happened with Trinity Audio.

Although Penon's higher tier is beyond this old man's pocket, I still have a few superb IEM's from Penon. They must be my favourites because they are at the fore of my rotation. I somehow got a 'perfect' copy of the 10th Anniversary and find it beautiful. The Serial, with some wellie and power, is great. The ISN Neo 3 and the Penon Fan 2 must be two of the most underrated IEMs ever. The ISN H40 is still rocking to this day.

Okay, turning out to be a great Friday!

The new eagle has landed, and though I know it needs a good 100+ hours of burn in, the first listen out of the box is very promising. But I'm used to these Penons needing real burn and I can hear that need here.

This seems like it will be an incredible tuning for Penon. Really mature, detailed, mid/vocal forward, deep sub bass, thick, wet notes that slam. Warm U to W shape sound. Reminds me of the Fir Rn6! As it so often seems, @Dsnuts has a good ear for my preferences and he has probably again nailed it with Voltage.

And I love the red 🔥 finish, beautiful! It's looking like a homerun to me, great release, congrats @Penon! I will come back with more after these are burnt in!

I don't know how is possible that they are reminding you to Fir Audio RN6 because the fr looks much different:

instead I guess Penon tried to imitate Canpur CP622B fr

I don't know which module Jim measured there, but measuring Rn6 is a crapshoot with that Kinetic Bass port.

I trust my ears, but again, it's pretty early to make any real observation.

Just saw the voltage on squig, actually looks really nice on there. The penon released graph didn’t do it any favours, but it looks really good here:

I’m sure there will be a lot of happy voltage owners. I’d love this tuning, shame it’s so expensive.

Wait for Hisenior, EPZ; they're about to launch their newer TOTL iem.

Their prices will be less, not cheap, but less expensive with similar setups.

I love my quattro and don't see myself upgrading soon. All I hope is that the next iteration, hopefully a 5 dd/xo, in a few years can improve incisiveness/definition of sound, detail, soundstage, and imaging.

Quattro's is one of my favorites, sounds superb to my ears, analog not at all a monster in technicalities, but of course you know this already.

Got to have plenty of amplification to get the best out of them.
